Who requires treatments and medications for Low Blood Pressure?

People who have lower levels of blood pressure actually lowers the risk of suffering from many severe illnesses such as heart and kidney diseases -  therefore low blood pressure is actually quite favorable for a good health. However, this blood pressure cannot drop to levels so low that they cause permanent damages to the organs of the body.

People who have very low blood pressure need treatment because at particular levels the blood flow is not adequate to supply enough blood to various organs. For example, if the brain is not supplied with enough blood it causes lightheadedness or even cause the subject to faint.

Anyone who suffers from the following symptoms need to get treatment for low blood pressure:

  • Chest pain – this is caused if inadequate amounts of blood are supplied to the coronary arteries
  • Shock -  this is a fatal condition when insufficient blood is given to the organs such as the liver, hearts and lungs which then fail to perform normally

People who show signs of low blood pressure should refer to their physicians for prompt medication. Normally, a simple action such as drinking salt water is sufficient to raise the blood pressure back to normal and safer levels.
