For patients with renal impairment, the recommended starting dosage is 2.5 mg per day. The dose can be gradually increased if required. It is not recommended to use this medication in people with severe renal impairment who are undergoing dialysis. In patients with hepatic impairment also, the recommended staring dosage is 2.5 mg of Bystolic per day. The dosage can be gradually increased if required.

Since the effects of this medication have not been studied in patients with severe hepatic impairment, it is not advisable to administer Bystolic to people with severe liver function disorders. This medication can be given in normal doses for geriatric patients. The medication should be taken as prescribed by the doctor, preferably at the same time every day.
