The recommended starting dose of amlodipine is 5 mg per day which can be increased gradually but should not exceed 10 mg per day. In case of erratic patients, the starting dosage may be as low as 2.5 mg per day. In children between the ages of 6 and 17, the recommended dose is 2.5 to 10 mg per day. The dose of atorvastatin ranges between 10 mg to 80 mg per day depending upon the patient’s condition. For people who are being treated for hypercholesterolemia, the recommended starting dose is 10-20 mg per day. For people with very high cholesterol levels, the dose can be increased to 40 to 80 mg per day. It is not recommended to take more than 80 mg of atorvastatin in one day.
